Coronation Street fans have been left gobsmacked after discovering the real age of soap legend Sally Metcalfe.

Sally, played by Sally Dynevor, first graced the iconic cobbles of the long-running ITV soap back in 1986. Since then, she’s undoubtedly become a soap legend, featuring in numerous high-profile storylines.

From her heart-wrenching cancer fight to her string of unsuccessful cobbles romances – including tying the knot with Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), Sally’s stint in Weatherfield has been anything but dull.

Particularly now, as the soap is currently unfolding a chilling new historic grooming plot involving Sally’s husband Tim (Joe Duttine).

Just last week, Tim bumped into a woman from his past, Trisha, when he picked her up in his taxi. According to Tim, Trisha was the one who took his virginity back in the 1980s when he was just 14 and she was in her 20s, reports the Daily Star.

However, when Tim shared this with Brian (Peter Gunn) and Sally, they both insisted that it was actually grooming since Tim was underage at the time. Despite this, Tim seemed reluctant to accept their viewpoint.

He defended their age gap, insisting it was consensual and that all his mates were envious of him. Later, Brian even confronted Trisha, accusing her of grooming a child, leaving her utterly shocked.

The storyline took an even darker twist when Sally stumbled upon a disturbing comment on one of Trisha’s social media snaps, suggesting she should be behind bars for her actions.

Sally once more urged Tim to acknowledge that she had groomed him, but he refused to accept it, even mentioning the age difference between himself and Sally.

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person commented: “Did anyone else realise that Sally is older than Tim? She was born 1967 and he was born 1972.” Someone else replied: “She looks a lot younger, I’d have said they were the same age.”CAnother added: “Same here!”.
