Emmerdale Soap Scoop! Bear finally confesses

Emmerdale has confirmed the return date of the ruthless Doctor Todd, ahead of Jacob Gallagher’s emotional storyline. The trainee doctor will be forced to navigate uncomfortable power dynamics later this month, as he is bullied in the workplace.

Dr Todd, who is played by Caroline Harker, was introduced last year during Jacob’s first placement in A&E. The no-nonsense medic served as a mentor to the youngster, and she didn’t hesitate to call him out on his mistakes.

However, Dr Todd’s nasty side will soon be revealed when she returns to our screens next week. She quickly begins to target Jacob, turning his already high-pressure job into a complete nightmare.

In scenes that will air on 27 February, Jacob heads off for another gruelling shift at the hospital. He soon begins to struggle with his patients, as an unimpressed Dr Todd watches on.

Irritated by his efforts, Dr Todd berates Jacob, leaving him embarrassed. Will his confidence be knocked by her harsh criticism?

“Jacob’s previous dramas at work were arguably his own fault – he’s certainly made some mistakes since he started training at the hospital,” our Emmerdale source explains.

“But this is the first sign of Todd perhaps going too far and abusing her position. It’s the start of a big story for Jacob, which plays out over the coming months.”

Unfortunately, things don’t improve for Jacob when he clocks out of work, as the villain later moves into the village. How will he cope with her breathing down his neck at all times?

“I’m delighted to be back at Emmerdale for a longer stint playing Doctor Todd,” Harker said of her return. “She’s a complex character and from what I’ve been told so far, quite a tricky one for Jacob to navigate.

“Workplace bullying is commonplace, and it will be interesting to see it brought to our screens in a serial drama such as Emmerdale.”
