Xander and Sarahβs whole world blew up again. Xander caved and told the truth. He did beat Philip to within an inch of his life. It was a brutal beatdown, and Sarah is done. This could be the end of Xarah forever.

Itβs understandable for Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) to be filled with rage now that she knows the truth about Xander (Paul Telfer). What he did was wrong, frightening, and completely over the top for the situation. Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) betrayed him, yes, but he didnβt deserve to be treated so brutally.
Xanderβs temper is legendary. He has committed crimes for as long as he has been in Salem (and likely before that as well). These days, when they talk about his criminal acts, they start with him shooting Marlena (Deidre Hall). They often forget about what he did before, like attempting to murder Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker).

Sarah has long been aware of Xanderβs shady tendencies. She chose to compartmentalize them, thinking he had changed. And while saying youβve changed due to the love of a good woman is romantic, itβs also super unrealistic.
As soon as Xander finally admitted that he did beat Philip, that was all Sarah needed to know. She was done. Not only did Xander lie to her about the beating. He gaslit her into thinking that she was the one who was wrong for even thinking he would do something horrifying like that.
Pure Evil
After validly kicking Xander to the curb, Sarah told Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) that she was no longer in love with Xander. And that he was pure evil. Just like that. And she is probably going to cut Xander out of Victoriaβs life, too. Time will tell if that happens.
However, she is now ignoring the fact that, despite his reluctance, Xander is seeing Marlena to deal with his anger issues. He also reluctantly agreed to couples therapy with Sarah. And, again, despite his reluctance, he is doing the work, and itβs having an effect. He is β at least incrementally β becoming the better man that Sarah had hoped Xander would instantly be when they fell in love.

So is Xander pure evil? Maybe he was once upon a time. But heβs slowly working to improve himself. And look at his relationship with Philip. They genuinely have forgiven each other, despite having done terrible things to each other. Xander is capable of changing. Maybe someday, Sarah will remember that.
