TELLY TITANS Coronation Street and EastEnders legends unite for terrifying new TV drama
EASTENDERS Jill Halfpenny and Coronation Street’s Sally Lindsay have united as a star-crossed soap duo for a brand new series.
The actresses are set to front a new thriller, Number One Fan, which will be released on Channel 5.

Sally is best known for appearing on the cobbles as Shelley Unwin, but has since taken on TV dramas such as Channel 5’s Love Rat.
She starred in Coronation Street from 2001 until 2006.
Jill is no stranger to soapland either, after portraying Kate Mitchell in EastEnders, jumping to Albert Square following a stint on Coronation Street as Rebecca Hopkins.
The star left EastEnders in 2005 after three years, and recently starred in popular drama The Feud alongside Amy Nuttall.

Now, the pair are set to be in the heart of a new mystery in Number One Dan, which will see TV presenter Lucy (played by Jill) saved from an attack by her “number one fan” Donna (portrayed by Sally).
According to the show’s synopsis, Lucy’s gratitude quickly sours when Donna’s fandom turns into a darker obsession infiltrating Lucy’s career, family and friends.
Lucy later uncovers that Donna could derail her whole TV career in a dark twist.
Mike Benson, the show’s executive producer, said that the soap crossover won’t be one to miss.
He explained: “We’ve obviously worked numerous times with two of the most talented actresses in the country in Sally and Jill – but never before in the same show.
“Seeing them both together on screen – and in two very surprising roles – is something I know viewers will be every bit as excited about as we are”.

Away from acting, she won Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 with professional dance Darren Bennett.
While Sally – who became a grandmother last year – started out in comedy before her breakout role in Coronation Street.
