SOAP SHOCK Emmerdale legend reveals why she will NEVER return to the soap after joining rival

EMMERDALE legend Emily Symons has revealed that she will NEVER return to the ITV soap after rejoining rival Home and Away.

The actress – who played Aussie barmaid Louise Appleton in the soap – starred in it between 2001 and 2008 eventually becoming the landlady of The Woolpack and central to the show.

But after years of raunchy storylines that saw Louise bed countless men, Emily decided that it was time to return home.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, she said: ”It was in the 2000s. I think that was 2001 to 2009.

“Louise my character was having a relationship with Ashley.”

She laughed: “I actually think she shagged quite a lot of people on that show – not me, Louise.”

“The Australian barmaid romping!”

But while Louise’s antics kept Emily busy, she only has fond memories of filming in the Yorkshire set in the heart of the countryside.

“And what a lovely family of people they were,” she said.

“It was great filming in the village. We’d get walkers, people walking, and they’d literally think it was a real post office!”

However in a bizarre twist that will confuse long-time soap fans, Emily has revealed that since leaving in 2008, bosses have never approached her about a potential return – despite her being mentioned on screen.

“No they haven’t,” she said.

Though sadly for fans, even if they had done – the answer would be a no.

Ruling out a return she added: “I think I’ve done my travelling days now. But I have very fond memories.

“People used to say to me what’s the difference between Emmerdale and Home and Away? And I used to say about 30 degrees.

“But the biggest difference is in Emmerdale you’re allowed to wear warm clothes because you’re in a Yorkshire village in the winner so you could wear coats, gloves, and hats, you’re allowed to.

“But in Summer Bay it’s supposed to always be summer, we are allowed to wear a light cardigan.

“I have a cardigan if it’s freezing. We call it ‘the sad cardi’ I think we bought it for a sad storyline where she had to be a bit frumpy and down and I quite liked it because I like being warm!|
