SOAP SHOCK Coronation Street favourite Debbie Webster’s devastating prison sentence revealed
DEBBIE Webster’s devastating prison sentence has been revealed in today’s Coronation Street.
The businesswoman – who is played by actress Sue Devaney in the ITV soap – plead guilty for driving under the influence of alcohol in order to take the blame for Carl Webster’s actions.

Viewers know Debbie is Carl’s biological mother and she is taking the blame to keep him out of prison.
This is despite the fact that she has vascular dementia and risks losing even more of herself from the stress of being behind bars.
In today’s episode Debbie was left utterly devastated to find out just how long she will be locked up for.
The judge told her: “I have taken into mitigation the fact that you have shown genuine remorse reflected in your guilty plea.

“The fact that you were of good character, had a clean driving record and that the victim was a close friend.
“I have also taken into account that you are suffering from a serious medical condition that requires long-term treatment.
“However in my judgement this case is so serious that only an immediate custodial sentence is appropriate.
“Therefore, allowing for mitigation, I arrive at a sentence of four years.
“After a reduction of plea, the sentence is one of two years and eight months.”
Debbie was then taken down but she became confused and terrified.

“Do I have to go now?” she said shaking.
“Can I say goodbye to my family? I love you. I need to give my husband a kiss. I haven’t got my make-up bag or anything.”
She was taken down and to prison where the stress caused her to have another TIA – leaving her rushed to hospital.
When she woke up, still confused, Debbie was horrified to discover she was handcuffed to the bed.
She began sobbing as the prison guard looked on stoney-faced.
