CORONATION Street fans have been left convinced that a huge character will die after watching the heartbreaking first look at the Corriedale crossover.
The new trailer for the hotly-anticipated episode, which will see characters from both Corrie and Emmerdale come together for the first time, dropped yesterday – but some fans aren’t happy.



In the emotional promo, fans got a sneak peek at the ITV soap crossover which shows the harrowing aftermath of a catastrophic road pile-up.
In the short clip, it was also teased that there would BE multiple deaths as lives of some big characters hang in the balance.
One of those characters is Coronation Street’s David Platt, played by Jack P. Shepherd, who is injured in the accident, and fans are now convinced he dies in Corriedale.
Another clue he could be fatally hurt is his wife Shona is seen screaming, as though she had got some terrible news, as Emmerdale‘s Charity Dingle comforted her.

Taking to Twitter/X to discuss, one fan said: “So we are going to lose David Platt in Corriedale!”
Then referring to the soap’s boss, the person added: “Shame on you Kate Brooks!”
Another vented: “David Platt can’t die!!”
This fan said they would switch off Coronation Street if David passes away.
“If David dies I’ll never watch corrie again,” they fumed.
Actor Jack is a much-loved member of the Coronation Street cast.

The star joined the soap as a kid in the 90s, and over the years fans have watched him grow into a husband and father who has been involved in some huge storylines.

Meanwhile, along with Corrie’s David and Shona, other characters from the soap who are in the crossover include Tracy Barlow, Kevin Webster, Kit Green, James Bailey, Asha Alahan, Carla Connor and Shona Platt.
Emmerdale’s cast in the Corriedale crossover include Cain Dingle, Sarah Sugden, Liam Cavanagh, Jacob Gallagher, Robert Sugden, Aaron Dingle, and Joe Tate.
As the trailer draws to a close, more heartbreak is teased as Corrie’s Kevin and Abi Webster search for his sister Debbie at the crash site.

While Emmerdale’s Robert screams out for Aaron in the darkness alongside Joe Tate.
HOW TO WATCH
Fans will get to watch Corriedale on Monday, January 5.
ITV has confirmed that the special crossover will not be made available on ITVX earlier that day.
Instead, the two lead-in episodes will appear at 7am on the streaming service, but CorrieDale will air first on ITV at 8pm for an hour.
