SHOCKING SECRET FOR YOU!!! Coronation Street star teases ‘special’ episode as he lets slip anniversary plan

A Coronation Street star has opened up on a “special” episode as he teased the soap’s 65th anniversary plans.

Actors Alan Halsall and Jennie McAlpine, who portray Tyrone and Fiz Dobbs on the programme, made an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain on Tuesday (September 9).

They chatted with presenters Ed Balls and Susanna Reid about a major storyline involving Tyrone following his hit-and-run accident on Monday (September 8) evening.

The beloved character was taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle that veered to miss teenager Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) near the Weatherfield Precinct.

Discussing the collision’s effect on Tyrone, actor Alan revealed on GMB: “This is a big storyline and also a sensitive storyline that we’ve got to be careful with,” reports the Daily Star.

He continued: “Will he walk again? How’s it going to affect his family? It’s not just the physical aspect of what he goes through, but also the mental toll on his wife, his children, his nanna, his mum.”

During another part of the chat, Alan hinted at “exciting” developments when questioned about the programme’s forthcoming 65th anniversary in December.

“Just tell us, are there plans for a big December 65-year party on Coronation Street? Is there anything you can tell us about what’s in the pipeline?” Ed enquired.

Alan responded: “I know we’re doing a special episode later on in the year, I don’t know how public that is. That will be January time, I think.

“There’s plenty happening, there always is on Coronation Street.”

Jennie revealed: “Spoiler alert, Ed, last week, me and Kirk [Sutherland, played by Andy Whyment] were already filming in the factory, the Underworld Christmas do.”

This comes after the announcement that Corrie will be having a crossover with fellow ITV soap Emmerdale next year.

After the horrific car accident, upcoming Corrie scenes will show Tyrone in a state of panic as he tells Fiz that he’s unable to feel or move his legs.

“There’s just a hell of a lot of fear, wondering how he’s got there, why he’s feeling like this. He is terrified,” Alan expressed in a statement.

“[Tyrone’s family] don’t know if he’ll walk again or how life is going to look going forward. But he knows they will all try to stick together and face what the future holds.”
