Cherie Jimenez has quickly become a standout on Days of our Lives, but there’s much more to the actress than her role in Salem. From her early audition journey to surprising personal tidbits, we’ve rounded up five fun facts fans may not know about Jimenez.

Cherie is married to actor Sean Faris and the couple just celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary on August 31. They were married at Burning Man in 2017. They are parents to Phoenix, who was born in March of 2022, a day shy of Sean’s 40th birthday.

Jimenez shared that her journey to playing Days of our Lives’ Gabi Hernandez has been a long one, revealing she first auditioned for the role back in 2009, making her casting now a full-circle moment. The actress also noted that she auditioned again in 2023, though at the time she didn’t realize she was even being considered for the part.

Although their characters were often at odds – ok, let’s be blunt – Gabi was almost killed by Connie – Cherie and Julie Dove are actually good friends in real life. Jimenez told Soap Opera Digest that, ““Julie has actually become one of my really good friends,” reports Jimenez. “We have lunch at least once a month and just catch up on life. She’s absolutely wonderful.”

The actress was born and raised in New York City and went to SUNY Purchase Acting Conservatory.

Jimenez started out her career going by the professional name of Cherie Daly. She has appeared on Pretty Little Liars, The Newsroom and Banshee.
