SHOCKING NEWS JUST DROPPED! Corriedale officially adds 13 characters to crossover episode in huge new trailer

We now only have a few weeks to wait before Corriedale, the crossover episode between Coronation Street and Emmerdale, hits the small screen. As its premiere fast approaches, we have a host of new characters who will be involved.

It was confirmed earlier this month that Corrie’s David Platt and Tracy Barlow would be joined by Emmerdale‘s Liam Cavanagh, with the trio being the second batch of confirmed characters following the previously announced Lisa Swain and Aaron Dingle.

Now, with a brand new trailer to boot, we have a handful of new figures who will appear, with Kit Green, James Bailey, Asha Alahan, Carla Connor, Kevin Webster, Abi Webster and Shona Platt all making their way from Weatherfield to be involved.

On the Emmerdale side of things, we have Cain Dingle, Sarah Sugden, Charity Dingle, Jacob Gallagher, Robert Sugden and Joe Tate, but it remains to be seen how all these parties come together.

What we do know is that a multi-vehicle pile-up will be at the centre of the drama, with the newest trailer showing Kit attempting to take control of the situation as Carla tries to calm somebody down.

Husband-wife duo David and Shona are tended to by paramedic Jacob following the accident, while fellow medical worker Asha works with Cain to discover if there are any further injuries to report.

Shona and Charity come together later as they are pictured at Hotten General Hospital, while Kevin and Abi are seen looking for somebody at the crash site. Robert and Joe are also on the search, this time for Aaron.

The hour-long special, which is described as a “celebration of the genre”, will air on ITV1 at 8pm on Monday 5 January, though it won’t stream early on ITVX or YouTube like standard episodes of the respective ITV soaps.

Corriedale is just the start of the drama as the aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets and lies,” reads the logline for the crossover. “Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will never be the same again!”
