SHOCKING NEWS!! Emmerdale’s ominous John cliffhanger teases more danger for the villagers

Emmerdale‘s latest episode has teased that the residents of the village are still in a lot of potential danger as the dramatic storyline for kidnapper and killer John Sugden continues.

Tonight’s episode began with Mackenzie Boyd, injured but being treated in hospital, being told by police that John hasn’t been found, but they are searching for him.

Although he was weary, Mack recounted how John wanted to “play the hero” and purposefully put people in danger so the villagers “would see him as good, important, and as necessary, and they did”.

“But Robert was different,” he continued. “John couldn’t win Robert over, couldn’t get him, so he tried to frame him. John hates Robert.”

The scene cut from flashbacks to Robert back in the village after being released from prison, although Chas Dingle was still refusing to let him see Aaron.

On the streets and in The Woolpack, various villagers started to gossip about what John had been up to.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Mack explained to Cain that John has accidentally killed Nate while attempting one of his ‘heroic rescues’, but Cain didn’t want to listen.

“You believe the word of a killer?” Cain said, also rejecting the idea that Aaron was unaware about what John had been doing. He later went to Aaron’s own hospital room and insisted that John was manipulating Aaron over the whole Anthony Fox situation. A calm, but furious, Chas told him to get out.

Later on, Robert and Aaron finally got to reunite in the hospital. They held hands for a bit before Aaron pulled his hand away, blaming his ex for making John go off the rails.

Despite that, Robert returned to the village and gave Victoria a hug in the street, telling her that “everything I need’s right here. I’m going nowhere”.

As they shared an embrace, John watched from the shadows… What is he planning next?
