SHOCKING NEWS!!! Coronation Street’s Jane Danson speaks out over reports she’s been axed after 28 years
Coronation Street star Jane Danson has spoken out after a false report declared that she’d been axed from the soap. Taking to Instagram on Monday, Jane, who portrays Leanne Battersby, shared a photo of the original Facebook post, which wrongly stated that Danson had penned a “heartfelt letter” after being “dismissed” from Corrie.
Responding to the false claim, Danson declared: “Can whoever runs Coronation Street Secret News on Facebook stop making up stories and quoting cast members saying things that haven’t been said.
“Apparently, I’ve been axed from the show and have written a letter to say how upset I am. First of all, if I had been ‘axed’, surely I would have been told? Had almost 30 years of people feeling the need to say what they want or making up stories, and I’ve never bitten back, but I’ve had enough of reading absolute cr*p,” she continued.

“Just stop it, it’s pathetic. And please stop believing the 99% nonsense these sites keep spinning. It can be so damaging, and it’s really unkind. Think before you type.”
Showing support for their co-star, several Coronation Street cast members rallied around Danson. “Amen to this, sis,” commented Georgia Taylor. “I was dead online the other day, Jane,” quipped Jack P. Shepherd. “Well said, Jane,” added Andy Whyment.

Coronation Street‘s official Instagram account also replied, noting: “We keep trying to get all the fake posts taken down.”
Clearly, Danson, who joined the soap in 1997, has no plans to leave Weatherfield. Her character, Leanne, recently appeared in Monday’s episode (27 October), after her sister Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) returned to the Cobbles as the new landlady of The Rovers.

Following their reunion, Eva insisted that they invite Toyah to have drinks with them, but just as Leanne was considering patching things up, she walked into the office at the Bistro to find her ex-husband, Nick Tilsley, down on one knee and proposing to Toyah.
While she threw champagne at the pair and stormed off, Leanne was later forced to deal with their feud, after Eva kicked everyone out of The Rovers, so she, Toyah and Leanne could hash things out once and for all.
