The charactersâ longing for loyalty, forgiveness, revenge, and more left viewers craving more, and Netflix certainly listened and delivered. The streamer renewed the western romance series, which is based on Jodi Thomasâ novels of the same name. It was honestly a non-negotiable, considering that the first season ended on major cliffhangers. So, letâs take a look at everything we know about Ransom Canyon Season 2.
What Will âRansom Canyonâ Season 2 Be About?

Ransom Canyon truly took the word conflict as seriously as possible. Even though the ending of Ransom Canyon Season 1 brings some sort of resolution, including the revelation that the Sheriffâs wife was responsible for Randallâs death, and Staten and Quinn finally opened up about their undeniable feelings for each other, the western series left viewers with a ton of cliffhangers. Quinn and Statenâs shared future is uncertain because she accepted a job in New York, and Yancy faces some awkward tension as his alleged wife appears out of nowhere.
To add even more chaos to an already tense situation, the new season of Ransom Canyon will also introduce new characters, including politicians and journalists who investigate the twisted situation in the town. As if that wasnât enough, the sudden appearance of Yancyâs wife will likely play a significant role and shake up the dynamic at least between Yancy and Ellie, but perhaps also within the town. While we are still waiting to find out who will take the role, the stand-in in Ransom Canyon Season 1 has some valid chances. April Blair revealed to Deadline that Erica Dasher, who was the lead in her first show, Jane by Design, is the woman whose back of the head can be seen in the final episode, and she will likely audition for the role.
When Will âRansom Canyonâ Season 2 Be Released?

April Blair, the showrunner of Ransom Canyon, told Tudum that:
âI couldnât be happier that Netflix is ready to get back in the saddle for Ransom CanyonâŠOur dreamy little corner of Texas Hill Country is full of stories still untold, and we canât wait to bring them to our incredible fans. Get ready for another ride.â
It seems like the plan has been set in motion, because filming for Ransom Canoyn is set to begin in September already. It will be primarily filmed in New Mexico again, and it will likely take around four months, if it is as swift as the first season. There are many series like Ransom Canyon that can be enjoyed while waiting for the continuation of the show. Season 1 was released in April, though, which is not that long ago at all, and filming is about to start, so  Netflix gains some plus points among its subscribers and Ransom Canyon fans with such a quick production turnaround. Season 1 was filmed between February and June of last year, and it premiered only a few months later. Just wait, because our favorite western romance series will be back in no time.
