They may have an immediate impression on Coronation Street, but the Driscolls will soon be embroiled in chaos as another member of the family lies to Ben and Eva. With Will set to make his debut soon, what could the future hold for them?

The group arrived on the cobbled streets last week, with Eva making a return to her home after an absence of seven years. She turned up with husband Ben and mother-in-law Maggie, while step-son Ollie had already made an impression in the area.

Ben’s other son, Will, is yet to be seen on-screen due to his stay in Kingston upon Hull, but he will make his debut in Weatherfield later this week as he makes the trip from the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Next week begins with Ben and Eva searching for an athletics club for Will, with Eva’s ears pricking up as James Bailey informs her that he’s a personal trainer. He has a session with Will, though the youngster seems far more engaged with his phone than sport.

Later in the week, Will tells Ben and Eva that he has an athletics meeting with his former team in Leeds, though it soon becomes apparent that he’s not telling the full story regarding his trip.

He’s dropped back in Weatherfield by his coach Megan, but storms off in a foul mood as he struggles to adjust to his new surroundings. Ben bumps into Megan, and offers her lunch at the Rovers.

With Ben seemingly pursuing all avenues in the search for information, will his son admit that he’s struggling with his new life? And what exactly is Will hiding? Is he telling the truth about his athletics team?

The tension around Will isn’t the only struggle that Ben will face upon his arrival in Weatherfield, with the character firmly being in the middle as his wife and mother clash over the running of the Rovers.

“He’s got every reason to be stuck between his mum and Eva because he loves them both dearly and there’s nothing worse than being stuck between that,” explained actor Aaron McCusker.

“He can see that [Maggie] doesn’t treat [Eva] very well but he’s scared to step in because she was a single mum and brought him up… Deep down he wishes she wouldn’t speak to her like that and wishes she’d go away every now and again.”
