John Sugden attacked Mackenzie Boyd after he found out the truth.He discovered that the medic was responsible for Nate Robinson’s murder. He accidentally killed him while giving him medication, which led to his death. Later, he dumped his body in the frozen lake. In the previous episodes, John framed Owen. He let him die and wrote a suicide note claiming Owen killed Nate during an altercation. Meanwhile, the soap fans were dubious that John killed Mack, but they saw him in an underground bunker near the cottage where he had been living with Aaron.

The situation got worse when John found out that Aaron had slept with Robert. To bring him under his control, he spiked Aaron’s drink. While the medic wasn’t there, Robert’s ex consumed more of the tainted alcohol. He had a seizure while the medic spoke to Paddy. He realised who he was talking to.
