MIC DROP Coronation Street legend hints at return of “hated” family after fans slammed early exit

ONE of Coronation Street’s most-hated families could be making their way back to the cobbles following previous dramatic final scenes.

The Coronation Street connoisseur teased about the Michaelis family – who viewers were gutted to see leave so soon.

She explained: “Our hands were tied with Mick who I thought was a really, really good actor because he had another job to go to.

“He had some theatre work to go to, unfortunately for us, so we knew there was a ticking clock and at this point we were going to have to release the actor.

“Sometimes that’s really helpful, because you know that you’re going to crank up the pace of the story and it’s going to end there – and it’s very helpful to know that you’ve got something to work towards.”

She continued: “Personally, I was also gutted because I thought he was such a good actor.

“We brought in the Michaelis family, him and Lou, [it was] very explosive, hit the ground running.

“The viewers hated them, but they brought a lot of drama with them and they’ve left us a great legacy with Brody.”

She concluded: “It’s not the end of the family. We are going to hear from them again.”

Hairdresser Lou Michaelis – played by actress Farrel Hegarty in the ITV soap – is currently facing a spell in prison after pleading guilty to attacking Gary Windass.

Hegarty joined the soap alongside Joe Layton as Lou’s husband Mick.

‘She can’t stand her’, claim Strictly fans as ‘feud’ bubbles between Shirley Ballas and a female star

The couple, who arrived separately in February 2025, made massive waves on the cobbles.

Mick and Lou were part of a new family set to shake up Corrie.

The new family were immediately controversial and gained viewer backlash, but fans have spoken out about missing the deadly duo.

The pair were described as ‘nightmare neighbours’ who were determined to make life difficult for those who crossed them.

They moved into Mawdsley Street, to the rear of Chesney (Sam Aston) and Gemma’s (Dolly-Rose Campbell) house.

With this bit of soap history, Corrie expanded its action beyond the ginnel for the very first time.

Thug Mick was sent to prison for murdering Craig Tinker earlier this year.
