LATEST LEAK Coronation Street fans spot Lisa Swain and Carla Connor wedding ‘detail’ as huge move ‘rumbled’
Things may be looking difficult for the couple right now, thanks to very recent return of Lisa’s late wife, Becky Swain
Coronation Street fans think they have spotted what could be an entertaining wedding detail for Lisa Swain and Carla Connor and think they have rumbled just when it cold take place.
Things may be looking difficult for the couple right now, thanks to very recent return of Lisa’s late wife, Becky Swain, who she thought had died in the line of duty four years ago until she showed up in her living room on their daughter’s 18th birthday.
But, just before then, Lisa and Carla, dubbed ‘Swarla’ by fans of the ITV soap, were full of joy as the pair finally got engaged in a big public spectacle.
The day started with Carla, who had already attempted to propose twice, in quite the mood when she headed into work at the Underworld factory, with Lisa still making it clear she was upset with her.

It came after their row with neighbour David Platt about the recycling uncovered Carla’s notes about Tia Wardley – the name given to her by Logran Radcliffe as she searched for some answers about Lisa’s late wife, Becky.
But Lisa’s continued angst with her partner was all part of Lisa’s plan and with the help of Ryan Connor, she set about her own way of popping the question.
At Underworld, staff ushered Carla outside to the sound of sirens as the police arrived, only to find Ryan poking his head out of the police car before a uniform-clad Lisa stepped out of her car.
With Carla slightly nervous, but giddy, about what was unfolding, Lisa proceeded to ask Carla to marry her, with a growing audience on the famous Street, by dropping down to one knee. Carla was also tossed her ring box by Betsy and she then pulled Lisa to her feet and the pair exchanged rings, while the onlookers cheered.
The pair were embraced by Betsy and Ryan, before they headed to the cafe to share the news with Roy, who has been a father-figure to Carla over the years. They then spent the rest of the afternoon celebrating but things haven’t been easy since, with the arrival of ‘Tia Wardley’ and now Becky.
But while things may not be looking good now, there has been no word that there won’t be a ‘Swarla’ wedding – and fans think they have found the perfect person to run the proceedings.
During the National Television Awards, Lisa and Carla’s big proposal was chosen as the clip to represent the soap in the ‘serial drama’ category. While they lost out on the gong to BBC rival EastEnders, fans were happy to see the engagement moment take centre stage.
The Corrie stars in the audience were also impressed, particularly Debbie Webster star Sue Devaney. Alongside a screengrab of Sue celebrating after the scene aired, @agf1052 wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Debbie Webster as swarla wedding officiant WHEN.”
@mariekebraks replied: “Now that would be gorgeous television! Can see Debbie popping out a song mid ceremony. Then talking about losing no6 to them, only to wish them the most luck and love in their lifetime together.” @swarlafics added: “‘We are gathered here today to wed these couple of girly pals having a good time’ WOULD BE ICONIC.”
Some, meanwhile, think the big scenes could actually be being filmed after Lisa actress Vicky Myers had to pull out of appearing at an upcoming show on the ‘Audience With Coronation Street’ theatre your due to scheduling conflicts.
@CarlasFlipFlops said: “Vicky being too busy film the swarla wedding to make Glasgow.” @4TheSlowBurn commented: “Telling myself Vicky being busy filming on 24th September is because she’s busy with Ali filming Swarla’s NYE wedding. manifesting.”
@TheConnorSwains wrote: “Unfortunately Vicky has had to cancel her appearance in Glasgow. Either it’s entirely Becky Swains fault for rocking back up last week or maybe she’s filming the #Swarla wedding…… #VickyMyers #Corrie.” @DawnDav08238395 added: “Vicky is unable to attend the Glasgow audience event. Through no fault of her own her filming schedule is to busy. Mmmmmm a wedding maybe.”
