Landman season 1 ended with a huge twist where Tommy Norris is named President of the M-Tex oil corporation after the death of Monty Miller (Jon Hamm). As M-Tex’s top landman, Tommy’s expansive know-how and boots on the ground are integral to the company’s operations.

In Landman season 2, Tommy finds himself in an unfamiliar corporate role, with new enemies in the boardroom joining those in the field, like Gallino (Andy Garcia), a Mexican crime lord to whom Norris owes a debt. As M-Tex President, Tommy must also work closely with Monty’s widow, Cami Miller (Demi Moore).

Landman Season 2 Has Already Made Demi Moore More Prominent Than Jon Hamm In Season 1

Demi Moore as Cami in Landman season 2

When Monty Miller died, Cami became the sole owner of M-Tex, and she has a say over how Tommy Norris runs the company as President. Whether she’s mourning Monty or trying to get a handle on M-Tex’s legal and corporate problems, Cami appears to be more prominent in Landman season 2, as seen in the new trailer.

Demi Moore’s presence in Landman season 1 was fleeting, despite the magnitude of her stardom. Cami Miller was often glimpsed in the background of Monty’s scenes, and she said little. But it was all set up for Cami to move front and center in Landman season 2.

How Landman Season 1 Used Jon Hamm Was Disappointing

With Cami Miller’s prominence, Landman season 2 is moving beyond how Jon Hamm was utilized in Landman season 1. While he appeared more than Cami, Monty’s moments in Landman season 1 were also relatively brief, using seeing him traveling or exiting meetings to take phone calls from Tommy.

It was frustrating to see Landman waste Jon Hamm in a throwaway role.

Considering how popular and talented Jon Hamm is thanks to his iconic lead role as Don Draper in Mad Menit was frustrating to see Jon utilized in such a minor way in Landman season 1. Anyone could have played Monty, given the small number of scenes he had and what little Monty actually did. It was frustrating to see Landman waste Jon Hamm in a throwaway role.
