It looks like one EastEnders character is set for a hospital visit in upcoming scenes of the BBC soap, after a show favourite posted what appears to be a major spoiler.

Actress Balvinder Sopal, who has played matriarch Suki Panesar since 2020, took to her Instagram stories to share a snap from set to show off her choice of snacks for the shoot.

However, that wasn’t what fans instantly picked up on, as they spotted a hospital bed in the background in the background of the shot.

They were quick to speculate that Suki must be set to visit a loved one in hospital, and took to Twitter/X to debate who was in the hospital bed.

‘Bal posting this from filming yesterday – now who might Suki be visiting in a hospital bed?’ One fan posted alongside a screenshot of the Strictly Come Dancing star’s story.

‘WHO’S IN HOSPITAL,’ another wanted to know, while a third said, ‘hope it’s not eve!’

‘I think it will be Eve, and probably because of Ravis mess,’ another speculated.

Viewers will be aware that Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) has recently been involved in a dangerous drug storyline, which has got several characters in some sticky situations.

‘I hope it’s to do with Ravis stuff and NOT Eve,’ another fan echoed.

If the person in the hospital bed is Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), it won’t be her first visit of the year, with both Suki and Eve having ended up needing treatment after the dramatic events of their wedding day.

Though the ceremony itself went off without a hitch, the aftermath was somewhat of a disaster, after Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) managed to poison Eve, before being pushed off a roof by Ravi, dragging Suki down with him.

Thankfully, both women survived, and have been enjoying a slightly tumultuous married life.

In recent weeks, Eve’s mother Norma Unwin (Jessica Turner) has arrived on the Square, with some fans convinced that she may be the unfortunate soul that ends up in hospital.

‘I’m wondering if it could be Norma maybe. Heather has spoken about even further exploration of Eve. Maybe Norma becomes unwell meaning a reconciliation possibly,’ one fan wrote.

Eve has had a complicated relationship with her parents, and had been no contact with them for many years until Norma wound up in hospital last year.

Could this fan be onto something? It is certainly a plausible theory.

Or, could it be someone else entirely?

The soaps are usually in the midst of filming their Christmas episodes around this time of year, so it looks as though this hospital scene will be part of the festive season.
