HOT NEWS!!! Coronation Street unveils show’s latest recast in early ITVX episode
Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street sees the return of Harry Platt, after six months away from our screens. But fans will be forgiven for not recognising the young character as he has been recast for the second time since December.
The son of Sarah Platt and villain Callum Logan, Harry has been played by a number of actors since arriving on the show. In December 2024, Carter-J Murphy took over from real-life twins Freddie and Isaac Rhodes, who had been playing the role for seven years.
Murphy’s last on-screen appearance was back in April, as the young star landed a role in Matilda the Musical. Harry’s absence was explained on the soap by Sarah, who revealed he was spending most of his time at holiday club during the summer break.
Tonight’s episode features the return of the Weatherfield youngster, who is now being played by new actor Joshua Leavy.

In a cosy scene at the flat, Sarah’s boyfriend Kit Green prepares food for the family, following Bethany Platt’s recent homecoming. Harry and Sarah are seen watching TV together on the sofa, before Kit ushers them over to eat.
They are joined by Bethany who shows off her new two-piece Halloween costume, telling them that Hope Dobbs had encouraged her not to hide her stoma bag.
Bethany’s costume is met with approval from her little brother, who assures her she looks cool, while Sarah and Kit also compliment the dress.

Leavy’s appearance actually marks his second role on Coronation Street, as he previously played Finn Chambers, the son of Sarah’s friend Lydia, in 2021.
It was later revealed that Lydia had a romantic history with Sarah’s then-husband Adam Barlow, and had fallen pregnant at the age of 19. After Adam’s harsh treatment of her, Lydia began to harass the couple in a plan to ruin his life.
However, despite her original claims that Finn was Adam’s son, Lydia ultimately admitted that she had aborted Adam’s baby following their break-up and had lied about Finn’s paternity in an act of revenge.
