General Hospital’s Kristina Wagner Honors the Late Castmate Who ‘Behind the Scenes Was Sassy and Loads of Fun’
Showbiz lost a true legend when beloved actress June Lockhart passed away of natural causes at age 100 on October 23. Her nearly 90-year career spanned the stage and screen, and included memorable roles on Lassie and Lost in Space.
Longtime General Hospital fans will also remember her star turn as force of nature Mariah Ramirez from the mid-’80s to the mid-’90s.
What Was June Lockhart Really Like?

“June was so elegant and sweet as Felicia’s grandmother,” the Aztec princess’ portrayer Kristina Wagner tweeted, “but behind the scenes, she was sassy and loads of fun.”
In fact, “at the end of each workday, she would say, ‘This nightmare is finally over!’” Wagner recalled. “Rest in peace, June.”
