Daniel Goddard had a lot to celebrate when hemade his big daytime comeback after landing the role of General Hospital’s Dalton earlier this year. However, as his fans know, he’s no stranger to the genre and played Cane Ashby on The Young and the Restless from 2007 to 2019 — and one very popular Port Charles face just so happened to play his mom on the CBS soap.

The actor posted a great pic alongside Genie Francis (Laura) after the duo was reunited on the ABC soap. “Reunited and it feels so good,” he stated then went on to explain, “Genie Francis — a true TV legend — was my TV mom on The Young and the Restless, and now I have the honor and fortune of working with her again on General Hospital. Only this time… maybe she’s my nemesis?” He then asked fans, “What do you think — where’s this storyline headed?” As for the other face in the pic, Goddard addressed his castmate, “And a huge shoutout to the best photo bomb I’ve seen in ages. Thanks, mate — great working with too!”

For those who don’t recall, Francis played Cane’s mother, Genevieve Atkinson, on Young & Restless from 2011 to 2012 and the late Tristan Rogers played his father Colin Atkinson on and off from 2010 to 2019. In fact, Rogers made a final appearance as Colin on August 26 following his death on August 15 of this year.

It was so neat to see Goddard and Francis together again and we hope to see more of them onscreen in the future!
