EMMERDALE favourite Bernice Blackstock has quit the village – after dropping a huge bombshell on her family.

The hairdresser – who is played by actress Samantha Giles in the ITV soap – returned to the village this week for daughter Gabby’s wedding.

But after dropping the bombshell that Gabby had cheated on new husband Vinny, Bernice has decided to go back abroad where she’s happier.

In today’s episode she was seen emerging from the B&B having bedded former business partner Bob Hope.

The hysterical scenes left her sister Nicola feeling distinctly unwell – and hard done by given Bernice had fled the village after leaving her and Bob with her debts.

However after sleeping with Bob and failing to blow up her daughter’s wedding, Bernice packed her bags.

And as she prepared to get into the cab to the airport, Bernice told her sister Nicola that she hoped they could be friends again one day.

Pushed by their dad, Nicola relented and told her: “Alright I do accept your apology. Albeit reluctantly.”

“Oh I can’t tell you how much that means to me, I will call I promise,” said Bernice.

With that she left to return to her life in Portugal, but now with the door open for a future return.

Actress Samantha Giles recently opened up about how tough the acting industry is now with stunt casting for influencers and singers taking roles.

She added to Woman magazine: “There are all these people who are going into acting but have never acted in their lives – presenters, influencers, singers.

“You have to compete with other actors and all these other people! I think that’s a real problem.”
