Emmerdale’s Kev Townsend star says ‘utterly excruciating’ in full moment viewers didn’t see
Emmerdale star Chris Coghill has shared a full look at a moment from a recent episode of the long-running show that left fans flocking to social media.
Actor Chris Coghill recently made his debut as Kev in the ITV soap, where he revealed himself to be Robert Sugden’s prison husband.

Just as Robert thought he could finally move on with ex-husband Aaron Dingle after John Sugden fled the country, Kev unexpectedly showed up on his doorstep.
Robert decided he would stay committed to Kev after he revealed that he was terminally ill and they were recently seen renewing their vows.
However, as viewers know, Kev is lying and wasn’t released from prison for compassionate reasons, but because his sentence was up. Not to mention, he doesn’t have just months to live.
It was then last week that Kev told Robert about the death of a prisoner at the hands of Jez, the man who tormented him in prison and made his life a misery.
Triggering his own memories, in an emotional episode of Emmerdale last Wednesday night (November 12), Robert, played by Ryan Hawley, finally opened up about his life in prison to Aaron and Victoria Sugden.
On Friday’s (November 14) episode, Robert decided enough was enough as he broke things off with Kev for the love of his life, Aaron. Of course, Kev didn’t take things well.
And it was during Tuesday’s (November 18) visit to the Dales that Kev showed up at a housewarming party at Dale View, where Vinny Dingle recently started living with Lewis and Ross Barton.
As he arrived, Kev appeared already quite drunk and with Robert and Aaron both also at the party, Kev took an opportunity to give everyone something to gossip about.
Now, Chris has taken to Instagram to share the full version of his performance. Alongside the clip, the actor wrote: “First of all… thank you for the love for Kev.. secondly a few people of asked how many takes it took to film tonight’s ’singing’ …
“The answer is I did the full song all the way through once. SO… under extreme duress from production here is the most utterly excruciating 4 f**kin minutes of my life… @emmerdale #kev #absolutenightmare.”
And he was quickly flooded with comments. Emmerdale’s social media team said: “You’ve got some competition @danielbedingfld.” Aaron star Danny Miller replied: “Easily one of the funniest and most heartbreaking scenes I’ve ever done.”
Vinny actor Bradley Johnson commented: “Absolutely brilliant!!” Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria, gushed: “We love Kev.” Amy Walsh, who portrays Tracy Robinson, added: “That’s iconic.”
