Emmerdale fans delighted by new Corriedale scene teaser – but it may never air

Emmerdale actor James Hooton has teased his scene in the highly-anticipated Coronation Street crossover episode Corriedale, and shared his hopes that viewers vote for it so it makes it to screens.

The soap filmed four scenes last week, each one featuring an Emmerdale character meeting one from Corrie. Only one of them will air, with the poll set to open shortly before airing.

Sam Dingle actor Hooton’s scene also features Andy Whyment, aka Kirk Sutherland, and it looks like a match made in Heaven, as both actors spoke about how great it was working together.

Sharing a photo of the duo, plus a certain canine co-star, to his Instagram, Hooton wrote: “Sam Dingle, Kirk Sutherland and peanut the dog! It was great working on a scene with Andy Whyment on Friday!

“4 scenes were shot with 4 cross over Corrie/Emmerdale duos and there’s a viewer vote coming soon to determine which scene makes it into the crossover episode. Billed ‘the meeting of two brain cells’, our scene was a lighthearted meeting of two characters that aren’t renowned for their mental acuity.

“It was an honour to have the opportunity to film this scene and I hope it makes the crossover episode.”

“Really enjoyed working with you mate, it would be nice if our scene got put in to the episode but if not at least we were one of the four scenes shot,” Whyment commented.

And fans are definitely enthusiastic at the idea of seeing Sam and Kirk together, with one writing: “I will definitely be voting for scene. Comedy gold!!”

“Oh Sam and Kirk will definitely get my vote, what a scene that will be,” wrote another, while a third said: “You two will definitely get my vote. Wonderful characters!”

Other fans hoped that all four scenes will get released, even if they don’t make it into the episode proper.

“Aww they should all be put in,” one wrote, while another commented: “It would be a shame if the three that aren’t picked vanish into the ether.”
