He’s been lighting up our screens as Thomas on Days of Our Lives for six years but now Cary Christopher’s time on the Salem soap has come to an end. The young scene stealer recently confirmed that he left the show a while back…

“Yes it is true,” Christopher confirmed on his official Facebook page, while posting “some photos over the years,” then went on to explain the reasoning behind his exit. “I left Days of our Lives several months ago because I booked a role as a series regular for a new show coming to Amazon Prime in 2026.” Of his time working on the Peacock soap, he continued, “Days of our Lives was such a dream set to work on. I started on this beloved soap when I was just 4. How lucky am I that I got to call it my home for almost 6 years!?”

At the Horton House, Thomas seriously regards Chad who kneels in front of him.

Being an actor often means making tough choices, which is the case here as Christopher stated, “I have been so blessed to always be busy working but because of that I couldn’t be in two places at once and I had to leave the show to go work on other projects. I will always hold a lot of memories from being on Days and Billy Flynn (Young & Restless, Cane) and I got to share a nice goodbye. Billy — you were the best TV dad a kid could have. It always was so great working with you and learning from you. And thank you, Days fans! You all are the best.”

Since the soap tapes so far in advance, he added, “I can’t say where Thomas’ story leads (and I don’t know!) so you’ll have to continue to tune in! I’m next on as Thomas DiMera on Oct 22nd and Oct 31st.”

Though there has been no word as of yet about a recast, as for Christopher, he added, “Next up for me — Weapons will begin streaming on HBO Max next week if you missed it in theaters! In two weeks you can catch me guest starring on Chicago Med. In 2026/2027: the live action series of Spider-Noir will be coming out, I’ll also be in Lanterns, and you can watch me as Justin in the family drama It’s Not Like That.

Wow, what a busy guy he is! And we wish Christopher nothing but the best as he adds to his already impressive resume.
