CLAP BACK Furious Coronation Street star breaks silence over rumours she’s been AXED from soap after 28 years
Jane Danson was left fuming after a Facebook page kicked off the rumour mill on her character Leanne Battersby’s exit.
She arrived on the Coronation Street cobbles back in 1997, when the Battersby family made a huge impact on the soap, even being dubbed the Neighbours From Hell.
She took a break from the role in 2000 as viewers saw the long-suffering barmaid decide to leave after a near-fatal run-in with Jez Quigley.
Jane rejoined the soap again in 2004 before taking maternity leave when she fell pregnant in 2006.

She pleaded for those on Facebook starting the rumours to “stop making up stories and quoting cast members saying things that haven’t been said.’
Jane added: “Apparently I’ve been axed from the show and have written a letter to say how upset I am.
