BREAKING NEWS!!! ITV Coronation Street Bruno Langley’s new life eight years after Todd Grimshaw axe
Bruno Langley was dismissed from Coronation Street in 2017 after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting two women in a Manchester bar. He’s since carved out a new career in photography and music
Bruno Langley, best known for his role as Todd Grimshaw in Coronation Street, has been living a different life nearly a decade after his sensational exit from the soap.
The actor became a familiar face when he joined the ITV soap in 2001 as Todd Grimshaw, making his entrance into Weatherfield alongside his on-screen family, including mum Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and brother Jason (Ryan Thomas).
During his tenure on the show, Todd was at the heart of numerous significant storylines, most notably as the first openly gay character to grace the cobbles.
In recent episodes, Todd has been romantically involved with newcomer Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), but there’s been a discernible sinister turn in his behaviour.
At present, Gareth Pierce is portraying the role of Todd, having taken over in 2020 following Bruno’s dismissal in 2017 for sexually assaulting two women in a Manchester bar, according to the Daily Star, reports OK!.

Bruno pleaded guilty to the charges and received a 12-month community order and curfew, along with the requirement to pay compensation to his victims.
Speaking to The Sunday Mirror, he expressed his regret: “I have no excuse, no one forced me to drink to such an extreme, but it is hard to explain why I would do anything as dreadful as that.
“It must have been awful for those women, and I am ashamed of myself. I’m truly sorry. I sincerely apologise to the women, from the bottom of my heart. I promise I will never do anything like that again.”
Following his conviction, Bruno was quickly axed from Coronation Street, with the programme removing all traces of the actor.
In 2019, he turned to Twitter to reveal a major career change, telling his followers that he had moved into photography. He wrote: “I just wanted to reach out and say that yes I am a photographer now, I’m really happy being creative in this way, and I make people really happy with what I do.”
Bruno spoke candidly about his decision to step back from the spotlight, explaining: “I have been taking some time out these last two years or so to catch my breath, reassess what is important to me, and to make myself a better person.”
He recognised that some might criticise him but stood firm: “I understand some people will want to say negative things and that is fine, I can take it.
Thanking those who had stood by him, Bruno added: “I have been shown so much support and love by so many people, be it friends, family, or strangers I meet, and I want to thank you from my heart for being so amazing and compassionate towards me.”
Then, in 2021, Bruno caught everyone off guard by launching a music career. He released his debut single ‘Downpour’ on Spotify, which features a special contribution from his sister.
He revealed: “Good evening friends, brothers and sisters. My latest track ‘Downpour’ is available to stream right now. For anyone that practices yoga or meditation or for people that just want to chill-out and de-stress, this might be your kind of thing.”
Expressing gratitude to his sibling, he added: “My beautiful and endlessly talented sister Amy provided the Cello for me -thank you so much sister, I love you. I am really happy to share this track with you, I had a great time making it. All my best – Bru x”.
Bruno has largely stayed out of the spotlight lately, with his most recent public appearance being the drop of his track Downpour.
