BIG TWIST!!! Coronation Street and Emmerdale confirm interactive crossover twist – here’s how to get involved
Coronation Street and Emmerdale have confirmed a special interactive element for their upcoming crossover Corriedale. The episode will see the two worlds collide as characters from the ITV soaps appear in both Weatherfield and the Dales.
Aaron Dingle (played by Danny Miller) and Lisa Swain (played by Vicky Myers) were previously announced as the first characters to feature in the crossover, with filming having already commenced.
Now, fans will get to have their own say about which Corrie stars they’d like to see in the Woolpack, and who should leave Emmerdale to visit the cobbles.

A new Instagram video, posted by the two soaps, revealed the instructions of the interactive twist, which will allow fans to vote for their dream on-screen duo during the crossover.
The video featured a range of soap stars, including Lisa Riley (Mandy Dingle), Vinta Morgan (Ronnie Bailey), Jane Hazlegrove (Bernie Winter) and Michael Parr (Ross Barton).

“Calling all Corrie and Emmerdale fans! This is your chance to pick who you want to see together in our huge Corriedale crossover episode,” read the caption.
In order to take part, viewers can pick one character from each soap and share their “dream duo” in the comments. Then all that’s left to do is wait for the shortlist before finding out who is picked.
The self-contained episode will air in January 2026, and is guaranteed to start the new year off with a bang. An “ambitious stunt” is set to rock both communities, leading to “everlasting consequences for everyone involved”.
“It’s beyond exciting that filming is under way on Corriedale,” said Iain Macleod, ITV Executive Producer for Continuing Drama. “There is a massive buzz around both the Leeds and Manchester sites and the images coming out of the shoot are utterly spectacular.
“That’s before we’ve even got to all the brilliant transpennine interactions between characters from the different shows! As a soap fan myself, I think my head is going to explode when the episode airs next year. It will be mind-blowing, historical and unmissable.”
