Ari and Holly are studying in the pub while Sophia works. Ari chats her up about school, which is when Sophia drops the bomb that Holly used to be obsessed with their film professor/Ari’s uncle, Johnny.
Ari heads back to Holly, where she’s having a glaring match with Sophia behind the counter. And once Tate walks in, she jumps at Ari’s suggestion to study somewhere else. “That was awkward,” Sophia laughs when Tate wanders over to be sure she’s still coming over to hang out and watch Casablanca.
They get to his dorm room, talking movies until Holly’s name comes up, but Sophia pivots away quickly. “Tonight is just about me and you.” But before they start the movie, Tate wants to talk. About the parents once again. He starts calm, just wanting to know what their daughter looks like, but Sophia’s stonewalling sets him off.

“Is our baby even alive?” Sophia loses it at the question, accuses him of just using this to grill her and storms out. He just tricked her to think something romantic could happen. No, no, he didn’t! He and Holly might even be over! Tate physically restrains her as she tries to leave, then shoves his face on hers and kisses her.
Will Holly Back Down?
Ari and Holly relocate to the bookstore (which seems like it would’ve been better to study at to begin with), and Ari tries getting Holly to ease up on Tate.
But she won’t, especially with him liking all Sophia’s posts, when she’s clearly scheming to get him back. She’s tired of fighting a losing battle. Maybe she’s blowing this out of proportion, Ari says. Well, things haven’t been the same since Sophia got pregnant.

Ari insists Tate isn’t interested in Sophia, but Holly thinks that could change if Sophia has her way. Ari then suggests that Holly’s getting caught in Sophia’s trap, too, by picking fights with Tate and pushing him away. Holly and Tate are totes meant to be. He’s too good a guy to give up on.
Fine, but she needs one day to be angry. She does feel better, too, which is just in time for Ari to run back to the dorms. Aaron loaned her an old school game, and Holly points out he’s probably flirting with her. “Ohhhh, no…” There’s zero chemistry. Maybe Holly could return the game for her. (Sophia/Holly confrontation incoming!)
Can Leo and Javi Actually Let Go?
Javi and Leo go overboard with buying clothes for Tesoro, which Javi points out as they walk through the square. They get real about the chances of Tesoro leaving soon and Leo admits he’s scared and doesn’t know how they’ll say goodbye.
Javi gets emotional, and Leo asks if talking about his daughter helped at all. It did, Javi says, smiling through another fond memory of his daughter. But it’s the first year he hasn’t been able to visit her grave and he feels like he abandoned her.

Chanel wanders over, cooing at the famous “firehouse baby” and jumping right into asking if the waiting period is over. The guys get awkward, but tell her they’re not thinking of adopting. Great! Chanel and Johnny want him.
Leo and Javi are shaken, and Chanel apologizes, but promises that if they do get baby T, Javi and Leo can visit whenever they want. They warm up to the idea, telling Chanel she’s exactly the kind of person they want raising Tesoro.

She reassures them that she and Johnny are both ready to be parents now that they’ve gotten past that snag when they were going to adopt Tate and Sophia’s baby. (Which they still are!)
Can Kate Handle Tony and Anna?
Kate surprises Anna in the mansion, looking for Tony. But Anna just tells Kate she can talk to her instead — presumably about Tony stealing the press conference spotlight. Kate says she just came to get ahead of “rapidly deteriorating affairs.” Anna tells Kate they know about Philip’s fraud and if he and Xander don’t play ball, Tony’s coming forward with the revelation.

So it’s blackmail, Kate puts bluntly. She tells Anna the forgery wasn’t her idea or Philip’s — it was Vivian’s. So maybe Tony can cut him some slack. Anna laughs in delight. Kate tells Anna to let Tony know she stopped by, but Anna promises the only thing he wants is to get DiMera back. Don’t fight the inevitable.
Is Paulina’s Influence Enough to Help?
Chanel catches up with her mom at the pub, from the Titan/DiMera mess to her and Johnny wanting to adopt again. And on that note… she needs Mama’s help adopting the firehouse baby. Could she at least address him in a different way? Oh, there we go, she calls him Tesoro. Paulina happily agrees to put in a good word for her and Johnny.

But… Johnny’s flipflopping last time could be held against them. Chanel insists this is different: They’re both absolutely ready.
Leo and Javi get home, where Leo’s a lot less enthused about Chanel and Johnny. He thinks Johnny’s messy no matter what. He mentions the (sorry about this) Body and Soul cheating drama and Johnny almost shooting his dad. He’s not stable. Maybe, Javi admits, but this is the social worker’s job.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Leo wants them to have a say in who adopts Tesoro. (Not sure that’ll hold up legally.) He’s going to investigative report on the prospective parents — on the downlow, of course.
The kiss flusters Sophia, but she still wants to go home. Without him. In the square, Holly calls Ari to tell her to return the game herself and let Aaron down. Oh, Ari/Sophia confrontation incoming! Ari agrees, then spots Sophia walking out of Tate’s room, wondering what she’s doing there.
She was in there with Tate alone, wasn’t she? Yeah, but nothing happened! Maybe don’t tell Holly, though. And Tate, meanwhile, is sitting on his bed looking at a headshot of Holly.
