EastEnders star Tracy-Ann Oberman has her sights on a Walford wedding for her character Chrissie Watts, after she wrapped up her recent soap storyline with a bang and a surprise marriage proposal.

The soap star returned to the Square after her estranged boyfriend Jake Moon attempted to have her confess to the murder of Anthony Trueman. However, Chrissie had nothing to do with it, as Anthony’s biological daughter, Jasmine Fisher, was actually responsible for his untimely death.

With Jasmine’s mum, Zoe Slater, behind bars for the killing, it was just a matter of time before Kat Moon teamed up with Chrissie to bring Jasmine to justice. In a dramatic conclusion, Jasmine was arrested while Chrissie fled Walford – though not before Jake proposed.

In a recent interview, Oberman said she “would love” for the pair to have a very Walford wedding and celebrate at The Vic.

“My dream is that I would love them to come back and host their wedding at The Vic. Nobody knows what the wedding is. They decided to hire it out,” she told Radio Times.

“Being back with Joel was great,” she added, about working with Jake Moon actor Joel Beckett.

“We really enjoyed the scenes, and there’s such a nice chemistry there. They’re an interesting pairing and an interesting couple. So who knows?”

Oberman confirmed she regularly chats to EastEnders executive producer Ben Wadey, teasing “endless” possibilities for a return.

“I’m always talking to Ben Wadey, who I love. I’ve enjoyed Chrissie coming back so much, and I love dipping in and out of it. The opportunities are endless,” she said.

“Chrissie cannot get away from the Square. She keeps coming back. There’s something about that place.”
