CORONATION Street star Jack P Shephard has revealed his “ballsy” baby name choice, after announcing his wife’s pregnancy.

It comes just days after the soap star, 38, and Hanni Treweek, 36, revealed they were expecting their first child together.

Excited Jack, who already has three kids with two other women, is getting ready to become a dad again this time with his new wife.

Today the actor, who has played Coronation Street‘s David Platt for 26 years, shared his joy with his fellow Corrie pals Colson Smith and Ben Price.

Speaking on their podcast, On The Sofa with Colson, Jack and Ben, he talked about a “ballsy” name he had come up with for his baby.

Although Jack said he doesn’t know the gender yet, he still had been thinking of names – and the one he came up with caused Colson and Ben to chuckle.

“It was suggested, I actually thought it would be funny…David,” he said, in his usual deadpan style.

Poking fun at his own name, which has a P in the middle, and his Corrie character’s name, Jack added: “David P Shepherd. Don’t you think that would be f**king brilliant?

“The balls, the ballsy-ness!”

Jack’s co-star Ben then joked: “Even better, David Jr.”

The podcast comes just days after Jack and wife Hanni revealed they were expecting their first baby together.

Sharing a sweet video on Instagram, they penned: “We’ve been keeping a secret…June 2026.

“Thank you so much to the dream team who made this so special for us.”

The soap star shared a black and white video of the couple looking over the moon as they posed for a pregnancy photo shoot.

Hanni looks stunning in a white flowing gown, caressing her growing bump, while Jack puts an affectionate hand on her stomach in one touching moment.

The duo also held up a pair of tiny knitted baby booties in another sweet clip from the video, with it clear that Jack and Hanni are excited to welcome their incoming family member.

Jack, who plays David Platt in the ITV soap, met Hanni when she worked behind the scenes on Coronation Street.

They tied the knot July 2025 in a stunning wedding ceremony up in Manchester, after Jack proposed on a romantic safari break a year earlier.

Jack already has three children, two with his ex Lauren Shippey, who was less than impressed by the pair’s nuptials, which has been compared to a royal wedding.

An insider told The Sun: “Lauren can’t help but raise eyebrows about the whole thing.

“She has known Jack for a very long time and has two children with him, so she knows him very well.

“The wedding is not what she or anyone really expected, and the whole pomp and grandeur has left people scratching their heads.

“Her friends have been mocking him for acting like royalty, and she can see why.

“People seem to forget that Lauren went through a lot when she was with Jack – a secret love child and public fallouts over seeing the kids.

“She knows the real Jack.”
