Coronation Street has shared a crucial new detail about the show’s latest death mystery – turns out that it all kicks off just hours after Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s wedding. The news has been confirmed in the soap’s latest set of spoiler videos, released today.

Show bosses have promised a game-changing episode on Monday (16 February), as the show flashes forward to a dramatic day in April. Lisa’s daughter Betsy is seen at the police station, clearly traumatised as she recalls how she found a body earlier in the evening.

Monday 16 February

A flashforward to 23 April shows Betsy being interviewed by the police, casting a shadow over a joyous day. While it sounds like Carla and Lisa’s wedding went brilliantly for the popular couple, the aftermath for poor Betsy is far from celebratory!

“It was my mum’s wedding today,” Betsy explains. “And it was a really beautiful day. Me and my mate, we went into town and we’d forgotten my ID so we came back.

“Well, that’s when I saw it….”

At the Rovers, Ronnie Bailey confronts Carl Webster after discovering that he has sinister plans for the Chariot Square Hotel. He reveals that he’s already intervened by warning off Carl’s accomplice.

Tensions rise further, with Ronnie hinting that he’ll convince Debbie to cut Carl out of her life for good. Carl bites back, warning that Debbie will always put him first because she’s his mum.

Wednesday 18 February

Sam Blakeman surprises Megan Walsh by making an unexpected appearance at the salon flat. He claims that he’s looking for a quiet place to do his schoolwork as Leanne has gone away for a few days.

Megan takes the opportunity to twist the knife further, reminding Sam about the coursework that he supposedly failed to hand in.

Once Megan has gone, Sam sets his latest plan in motion, planting a hidden camera to expose her grooming of Will Driscoll. Is this the beginning of the end for Megan?
