EastEnders’ Callum Highway (Tony Clay) may be loved up with new boyfriend Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), but their relationship is turned upside down next week when Callum receives some shock news from his estranged husband Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden).

Ben has been banged up for fraud since 2024, and while Callum initially vowed to wait for his husband, he later fell into Johnny’s arms and their casual hook-ups eventually escalated into a full-blown affair.

However, when Ben was given day release to support Callum at his father’s funeral last autumn, it was not long before he found what his husband had been up to with Johnny and officially called time on their marriage.

With Ben now back inside, Callum and Johnny have been going steady – despite a few bumps in the road with Ben’s daughter Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown), who refused to accept their relationship.

But things head south for the couple in forthcoming scenes, when Ben serves Callum divorce papers and an unexpected visit further rocks his relationship with Johnny.

It all kicks off when Johnny’s business partner Tim Walton (Tom Ratcliffe) requests to meet him and a reluctant Callum, who has previously clocked Tim’s evident crush.

While Johnny is hoping for some more investment in his struggling venture, it turns out Tim is actually after an illegal favour. This horrifies copper Callum, who storms out, leaving him at odds with Johnny, who is much more open to Tim’s request.

When Johnny later finds Callum looking over divorce papers from Ben, the pair have another furious row, which results in Callum ordering Johnny to leave.

Tensions remain high between the couple later in the week, but things thaw slightly when Callum makes a kind gesture to help Johnny find a new investor for his seemingly doomed business.

But just when things are looking to be back on track between them, the couple are rocked when a friend of Ben’s arrives with a deeply troubling request.

Who is it, and what do they want – and more importantly, could it lead to another return from Ben?
