General Hospital just quietly ushered a once-frontburner character straight out the door, and the silence around it is almost louder than the exit itself. No buildup. No payoff. Just a slow fade into irrelevance. And honestly? That kind of writing choice doesn’t feel bold — it feels evasive. If the show is willing to erase a character fans invested in without explanation, then let’s stop dancing around the obvious question: why not bring Dex back? He had unfinished business, emotional weight, and real stakes. If we’re clearing space, at least make it count

When General Hospital had WSB boss Brennan reassign Agent Vaughn to get him away from rookie partner Josslyn, we assumed that the move was temporary. We assumed that the couple’s passion was too great to be snuffed out by a disapproving supervisor. We assumed they’d fight to stay together. And we assumed… wrong.

Turns out, after just over six months as Vaughn, Bryce Durfee is really out. He’s no longer listed in the soap’s closing credits, even.

It’s an odd turn of events, no? Especially when you consider that General Hospital killed off Evan Hofer’s well-liked Dex to turn Joss into a JV secret agent with an older-man partner who’d soon become her new lover. If she’s going to just let Vaughn go without a fight — and that doesn’t seem like Carly’s take-no-prisoners daughter to us — then dare we ask: Can we get Dex back?

Yeah, sure, we know we saw Hofer’s character die on screen. But we also saw Britt and Nathan kick the bucket, and hey, look at them now — they’re back in action as if nothing ever happened. Over the years, Anna died, Jason died, Ric died, Sonny died… Half of Port Charles has taken a trip to the hereafter and back!
