BACK TO WORK Emmerdale’s Jurell Carter reveals new TV job and film role a year after being killed off ITV soap
EMMERDALE’S Jurell Carter has revealed new TV and movie roles a year after being killed off in the ITV soap.
Jurell, 33, starred in Emmerdale as Nate Robertson, the secret son of Cain Dingle who was murdered by serial killer John Sugden.

Following the dramatic events of the special Corriedale episode last week, Nate was mentioned on the show.
And, taking to Instagram afterwards, Jurell shared a snap of Nate with John and wrote: “I heard Nate made an appearance this week.
“Only right that I put a throwback up with his killer.”
But Jurell reassured fans that they won’t have to wait long to see him back in action – teasing his biggest role yet.
More on Emmerdale
He continued: “Nate’s gone but I filmed on two projects in 2025 so I’ll be back on your screens this year and also maybe on your big screens in 2027.”
Jurell is also keeping himself busy with projects away from acting. In another post, he told fans: “I’ve also launched my fitness coaching page @jcartercoaching.
“Go follow if you want help with you body and routine.”
Evil John ended up dead during the Corriedale crossover, with sister Victoria seen standing over his body in a forest.
As a result of the serial killer meeting his demise, viewers were shown a flashback to Nate’s murder in September.
After his exit, Jurell opened up about Nate being killed off and how it spurred him on in his career.

He told Digital Spy: “I spoke to some of my colleagues – including Eden [Taylor-Draper], who I’m close to.
“I remember saying, ‘As sad as I am – because I know there’s no going back – it almost gives me more reason just to go full force to the pedal outside of Emmerdale and really give it my all’.
“Once you know there’s no option for a potential return, you think to yourself, ‘Okay, it’s now or never and I need to go for it, full steam ahead, because there’s no safety blanket’.”
