SOAP DEB-ATE Coronation Street fans spot missed opportunity with soap crossover at Debbie’s wedding
FANS of Coronation Street have spotted a missed crossover opportunity ahead of next week’s Corriedale special.
The two ITV soaps will come together for a “catastrophic, life-changing” hour of television, where personalities from both casts will be on-screen together.

In the run-up to the special episodes airing, the respective soaps have been making references to one another.
But viewers have been left asking a big question after dementia-sufferer Debbie Webster’s emotional Coronation Street wedding – where was Emmerdale‘s Belle Dingle?
Debbie’s wedding had viewers on the edge of their seats as a range of dramatic revelations came to light, in true soap fashion.
It was also a beautiful moment, shining a light on dementia by including a real-life local dementia choir at the ceremony.

But fans were left massively confused by Belle’s absence, especially as she was supposedly Debbie’s wedding planner.
Taking to Reddit, fans were keen to discuss the obvious crossover being excluded ahead of Corriedale.
The original poster said: “Anybody else wonder why they didn’t have Belle Dingle at Debbie’s wedding?
“They’ve been referencing each other in their respective soaps for the past 2 months…
“The crossover is in 3 days, and the wedding is literally the big lead-in to it…
“Wedding planners are usually in attendance at the weddings they’ve planned, even if just beforehand.. So, it’s just weird to me that she wasn’t there…”

Others agreed it was strange, citing it as a “missed opportunity”.
“THIS… would have been a blinding idea,” penned a second. “And what a missed opportunity… blimey.”
A third added: “I would’ve loved to have seen it! I thought they might introduce some of the crossover characters a bit earlier than Corriedale so it felt more natural. This would’ve been a great way to lead us into it.
In the past few months, Belle has been complaining on Emmerdale about a “diva” of a client she’s planning a wedding for in Manchester, presumed to be Debbie.
Fans deduced the connection when Belle elaborated on the bridezilla, saying she “owns hotels” and is demanding the presence of an entire choir at her big day.
Debbie runs the Chariot Square Hotel in Corrie, and a choir did attend her wedding despite Belle’s absence.
