There’s not long to go until Corriedale – a first-of-its-kind crossover between Emmerdale and Coronation Street – airs, but if you can’t wait until January, you’re in luck.
The two soaps are coming together for a special episode set to air on 5 January, which will see characters of both soaps appear in a multi-vehicle road crash that leaves lives hanging in the balance.
The crash takes place near the town of Hotten, which has been part of the Emmerdale universe for many years.
Worlds collide as Corrie characters find themselves caught up in chaos while travelling back from Debbie Webster and Ronnie Bailey’s wedding.
Ahead of its premiere, special feature Countdown to Corriedale has been released on YouTube, which sees cast members from both soaps join forces to revisit some of the most legendary moments from each show.

The show description reads: “Countdown to Corriedale is a warm, nostalgic, and laughter-filled look back at the biggest moments from Coronation Street and Emmerdale, as stars from both soaps sit down together to relive the drama, the romance, and the jaw-dropping twists that have defined their shows – all building up to the unmissable Corriedale crossover event.”
The 30-minute feature – which is available now – sees four pairs of cast members, one from each soap, watch iconic clips as they share behind-the-scenes memories and insight.
Actors joining the sofa to watch some of their favourite clips include: Sydney Martin (Betsy Swain), Bradley Riches (Lewis Barton), Danny Miller (Aaron Dingle), Catherine Tyldesley (Eva Price), Shebz Miah (Kammy Hadiq), Mollie Gallagher (Nina Lucas), Mikey North (Gary Windass) and Amy Walsh (Tracy Metcalfe).

Corriedale’s hour-long special will air on ITV1 at 8pm on Monday 5 January, though it won’t stream early on ITVX or YouTube like standard episodes of the respective ITV soaps.
“Corriedale is just the start of the drama as the aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets and lies,” reads the logline for the crossover. “Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will never be the same again!”
