WED-ROCK Emmerdale shock wedding to rock the village as star Joe-Warren Plant teases unexpected ending
Christmas for his character Jacob’s festive wedding to Sarah Sugden.
The duo have booked a registry office for Christmas Eve after scaling down their plans for a larger celebration after witnessing their bickering relatives’ chaotic behaviour at a Christmas fayre.
Though it’s rare for soap nuptials to be drama-free, Joe hinted the pair will get through the ceremony unscathed.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he said: “There might be a couple of spanners in the works, but that’s just normal in Emmerdale land but overall it ends pretty well.”
Sarah is still clinging onto the idea of a big family knees up to celebrate.
As a compromise, Jacob comes up with a clever plan to pretend the wedding is in fact a gender reveal party after learning the sex of Charity‘s baby at her 20 week scan.

The couple believe she’s the surrogate for their child when the unborn baby is actually from her romp with Ross Barton.
Jacob hinted at tough times ahead, telling us: “Jacob’s a hot-head but I feel like he’s turned a corner in his life. Since the passing of his mum, Leyla, and David not being around anymore, I feel he feels pressure on himself to step up to be a parental figure in his child’s life that maybe hasn’t been there for him.
“It’s all been very complex, Jacob’s situation, so I think it’s going to be very heartbreaking for him if he finds out that it’s not his child.”
That unexpected drama remains a bridge to cross but, for now, Jacob will bus their relatives to the wedding on the day leaving them unable to meddle in any of the planning
The paramedic also plays a major part in the upcoming Corriedale storyline.

Joe said of the scenes: “I can’t go into too much detail but there was a lot of risk in filming it because we only had one shot to do it so we’re all a little bit nervous leading up to the take.
“We had a couple of rehearsals and stuff, but it was pretty nerve-racking and exhilarating. That’s what gave it that real factor.”
In the aftermath of the vehicle smash, police detective Kit takes control of the situation while a frantic Carla can be seen trying to calm someone down.
Injured Shona and David are tended to at the roadside by Jacob, while Corrie’s own trainee paramedic Asha Alahan shares the screen with Cain Dingle as she tries to help more casualties.
The new teaser trailer also showcased scenes inside a medical ward that left fans claiming they’d spotted a blooper.
A nurse entered a room and headed to a bed with a name sign pinned above.
Clearly visible is the name Tate – a family who star in Yorkshire-based Emmerdale – yet the specific family member’s first name could not be made out.
However, it means that either Kim or Joe Tate are seriously hurt.
The one-off hour-long soap extravaganza will air on Monday, January 5 at 8pm.
