soap’s darkest storyline set to take a turn. Though there will be festive cheer elsewhere, it’s set to be a traumatic period for the Weatherfield newcomers.

The family, the in-laws of Eva Price, arrived on the famous cobbled streets back in October, and were quickly in the thick of the action. While Ben got in a confrontation with Carl Webster, matriarch Maggie has been seen to have a mean streak.

Will, meanwhile, has been the focus for an issue-based storyline, with the teen being groomed by his athletics coach, Megan Walsh. She has attempted to keep this a secret, but some characters have noticed unusual behaviour.

Over the festive season, Ben will remain oblivious that his son is being groomed by Megan, and invites her to lunch. She brings Daniel Osbourne as a plus-one, a move which makes Will increasingly jealous.

As explained by Beth Nixon, who plays Megan, this is a very deliberate tactic from her character, with the actor telling The Mirror: “Poor Will. Megan is the devil in disguise and we are going to really see how evil she is.

“She will stop at nothing and she will do anything she wants to stay on top. Everything she does is for a reason and it’s to serve herself and nobody else. You find yourself wanting to shout at the telly at her, because she is so evil.

“She is spinning so many plates – it’s a ticking time bomb. She has met Daniel and uses him as a cover. She ramps the relationship up by kissing Daniel in front of Will in the Rovers. She is a lone wolf and there will be plenty more twists and turns – she keeps on plotting.”

While Megan is keen to get her claws into the Driscoll family, scenes from Wednesday’s (10 December) episode hinted that the villain could be caught out in the future, with both Daniel and Lauren Bolton being alarmed by how close she is to Will.

Following an encounter with Will, who drunkenly tried to kiss her while she was working at the Rovers, Lauren will spot the teen having a heated discussion with Megan at the precinct, and suspects something else may be going on between the pair.
