Peter Blake (Jason Brooks) arrived in Salem in 1993 to keep his sister, Kristen (then Eileen Davidson), away from John (Drake Hogestyn). He is the adoptive son of Stefano (Joseph Mascolo), and like many of Stefano’s sons, Peter was a chip off the old block.

Not only did Peter team up with Stefano to try to kill John, but they also convinced Kristen to marry her adoptive brother, Tony (Thaao Penghlis), because Stefano was dying. In true Stefano fashion, he wasn’t dying; it was just another DiMera scheme.

Along with being Stefano’s pawn, Peter had his own criminal ways, like dealing drugs. When Peter fell in love with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), he tried to change his ways, but it didn’t last.

Laura (Jaime Lyn Bauer) discovered the truth, only to be committed to an asylum because of Peter, who later played hero at the asylum, rescuing Laura and Jennifer from a fire.

Jack (then-Mark Valley) returned to town just as Jennifer and Peter finally found happiness. Peter and Jack fought for Jennifer, with several schemes taking place to win her heart, including Peter exposing Jack’s affair with Laura.

The latter’s scheme led Jennifer to marry Peter over her ex-husband. Unfortunately, true love did nothing to keep Peter from being a shady criminal. Thanks to Jack, Jennifer eventually discovered Peter was a liar who hurt a lot of people, so she kicked him to the curb.

Peter didn’t go quietly and tried to kidnap Jennifer, only to be shot by Jack. While Salem thought Peter was dead, Stefano saved his son and sent him to recover in the jungle.

In true DAYS fashion, Peter showed up alive the next year to wreak havoc on those who wronged him. First up was kidnapping Jennifer and taking her to the Grand Canyon. On his way to be with her, Peter was bitten by a mosquito that gave him Jungle Madness, which caused fits of violent rage and massive strength.

During this time, Peter nearly killed Dr. Rolf (William Utay) as Stefano tried to have the mad scientist help his son. Jack and Jennifer literally joined the circus with Abigail to escape Peter.

Once Peter found them in the circus, he tried again to kidnap Jennifer. Instead, she was in a car crash that left her presumed dead.

In a fit of grief, Peter arrived at her funeral to shoot up the place. Jennfier’s spirit stopped him and convinced Peter to go to the police for his crimes.

Stefano managed to obtain the cure for Peter’s Jungle Madness while he was in a minimum-security prison. The character was last seen on-screen in 1998.

In 2019, it was reported that Peter had gone missing after his release from prison. However, when Kristen (now Stacy Haiduk) needed his DiMera vote a couple of years later, DAYS fans learned she had a way of getting in touch with her brother.

On December 19, Peter will be back in the DAYS mix. The character will be played by One Life to Live alum, Dan Gauthier (Kevin), with details of how Peter returns being kept under wraps.
