Taylor Sheridan is on the move — but what about his Yellowstone spinoffs and many other shows?

According to Puck News, the creator of the Yellowstone franchise is reportedly planning to leave Paramount when his current development deal expires, and he already has his sights on a new home: NBCUniversal.

Yellowstone's Future in Jeopardy? Taylor Sheridan's Exit Sparks Fan Panic

Sheridan has created several series for Paramount, including the mothership Yellowstone drama and the streaming spinoffs 1883 and 1923. And that’s not all: He also executive-produces Paramount+’s Tulsa KingLioness, Mayor of Kingstown and Landman, as well as CBS’ singing competition series The Road.

So will Sheridan’s departure from Paramount spell an early end to his current shows and the many upcoming Yellowstone spinoffs? (More on those below!) Or will they simply move to NBC and its streamer Peacock? Sheridan’s deal with NBCUniversal covers film and TV, but he will actually be focused on just movies until his TV commitment to Paramount expires in 2028. As such, all of Sheridan’s current and upcoming Paramount shows will remain where they are, Puck News reports.

So yes, you will still be able to watch the Kayce Dutton offshoot Y:Marshals on CBS (or Paramount+) when it premieres in spring 2026. A series centered around Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, is also in the works for Paramount+. Additionally, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Matthew Fox (Lost) and Patrick J. Adams (Suits) will star in Paramount+’s offshoot The Madison, which is described as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.” The streamer also ordered 1944 all the way back in November 2023, but details about that show have yet to emerge.
