Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon revealed that her baby daughter had to be taken to hospital in recent days. The actress, who plays Bethany Platt on Corrie, said her daughter, who was born in January, was “really sick”.

Taking to social media on Monday, 27 October, Lucy, 29, revealed that her daughter Nancy had come down with a sickness bug, all while battling a series of sinus infections, as well as teething. Speaking to the camera in a pair of pink pyjamas and a cosy dressing gown at home, the soap star opened up about her stressful weekend, admitting that she no longer “knows” who she is anymore.

She said: “I didn’t want to come on and be really attention seeking but here I am. We have had a weekend, haven’t we? We have had a weekend. It has been filled with sickness, and A&E visits and everything. I don’t know who I am anymore. But poor Nancy is literally so sick.

“Look at her eye, I just cannot. I cannot even cope, she has been vomiting, she has a throat infection, an ear infection and an eye infection. She has two top teeth coming through and a sickness bug, can you cope? But yeah, that’s just a reality check. Life comes at you really fast.”

Lucy panned the camera to her young daughter, who had a visibly inflamed eye as she played and sat on her mum’s lap.

Lucy and her partner Ryan are currently living with his parents while they continue to renovate their own home in West Lancashire. They met in 2020 on a dating app following her split from Tom Leech.

Their first child, son Sonny, was born in January 2023 and a year later, Lucy fell pregnant with Nancy, and revealed she was terrified to tell her bosses at Coronation Street.

Reflecting on breaking the news of her second pregnancy, she told The Sun: “I was in the green room with everybody and they were talking about story lines, and I felt tears falling. I called Caroline, our cast liaison, and she was like, ‘This [pregnancy] is good news. Why are you crying?’

“Then I went into the producer’s office in tears and she was obviously really nice about it. I’d built it up, thinking everyone was going to be so annoyed.”

Now, after becoming a mum of two, Lucy no longer films for more than two consecutive days – something she enjoys as she often gets to watch the drama unfold, without being at the centre of it.

Lucy returned to Coronation Street in July this year, sharing a snap from her dressing room, captioning her upload: “And just like that, she’s back.”

She and Ryan went public with their relationship in June 2021 after lockdown restrictions ended, meaning they were able to properly date one another after meeting online.
