VIDEO SPOILER!!! Coronation Street newcomer Maggie Driscoll digs up Eva Price’s past — and it’s about to haunt her new life at the Rovers!
Coronation Street fans are gearing up for major drama at the Rovers Return as the fiery Driscoll-Price family officially takes over the legendary pub. But amid all the celebration and chaos, newcomer Maggie Driscoll is already stirring trouble — and her first discovery about Eva Price’s past could change everything.
The Driscolls Move In — and the Feud Begins
Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) can hardly believe her luck when her partner Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) surprises her with the ultimate gift: ownership of the Rovers Return. For Eva, it’s a dream come true. But her joy doesn’t last long.
Ben’s formidable mother, Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), soon makes her entrance — and she’s not just visiting. Maggie announces she intends to move in, instantly establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with.
Speaking to Metro, Catherine Tyldesley teased the dynamic between the two women: “Eva’s not scared of her at first, just irritated. But as time goes on, she starts to see this side of Maggie that’s intimidating. It’s that moment of, ‘Right, I’ve got your number.’”
It’s clear from the start that Maggie and Eva’s relationship will be anything but smooth sailing.
A Halloween Disaster Leads to a Shocking Revelation
The tension between Eva and Maggie reaches new heights during the Rovers’ Halloween party — a night that turns from spooky fun to public embarrassment.
When Eva bumps into her ex, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), she warmly invites him to the event, unaware that his presence will cause chaos. Dressed as Dracula, Adam arrives just as Ben dons an almost identical costume.
In a hilarious mix-up, Eva flings her arms around the wrong vampire, only to realize, too late, that she’s embraced Adam instead of Ben. The mortified solicitor flees, leaving his briefcase behind, while Eva scrambles to cover her tracks.
Later, feeling guilty, Eva decides to confess everything to Ben — unaware that Maggie is eavesdropping from the stairs, dressed as a demon and ready to pounce.

Maggie Digs Deeper into Eva’s Past
As Eva admits to her former relationship with Adam and assures Ben it’s ancient history, Maggie’s sharp instincts kick in. Though Ben accepts Eva’s explanation, his mother isn’t convinced.
When Ben leaves the room, Maggie wastes no time confronting Eva, her voice dripping with suspicion. “How many more skeletons are you hiding in that closet?” she asks, her words echoing like a threat.
Eva insists there’s nothing to worry about, but Maggie’s knowing expression says otherwise. With her sharp wit and no-nonsense attitude, it’s clear Maggie plans to uncover every last secret her new daughter-in-law has buried — no matter the cost.
Trouble Brewing at the Rovers
As Coronation Street continues to expand the Driscoll-Price storyline, viewers can expect fireworks at the Rovers Return. Between Eva’s complicated romantic history and Maggie’s determination to expose the truth, this family feud could become one of Weatherfield’s most explosive new rivalries.
Will Maggie’s meddling destroy Eva’s new beginning before it even starts? Or will Eva prove that not even a demon mother-in-law can bring her down?
One thing’s for certain — the Rovers’ Halloween party is just the beginning.
