SHOCKING NEWS!!! Coronation Street legend working flipping burgers at cafe on Macclesfield canal
Coronation Street legend Charlie Lawson is flipping burgers in a cafe on the Macclesfield canal. The actor, who played Jim McDonald in the ITV soap for 25 years, can now be seen rustling up eggs and bacon at the Bridge 19 Cafe in Adlington, Cheshire.
Charlie, 66, who last appeared in Corrie in 2014, has filmed a series of adverts for the grub which have appeared on Instagram. He is offering customers a free selfie with their chips.
In one clip he says: “Welcome to the Bridge 19 cafe which is on the Macclesfield canal going north.
“Saturdays and Sundays from breakfast early in the morning until 2 o’clock we have burgers. We have bacon baps.
“We have everything you want for a decent breakfast and even some healthy stuff.
“I wouldn’t know anything about that because I’m a Northern Irish person who likes proper food.
“I’m here sometimes too cooking for you.
“Get a selfie and all of that sort of craic as well.’’
Another ad urges Charlie’s fans to ‘walk over the bridge and turn right’ to find the food hut.
One said: “Can’t believe who I’ve just seen. A real legend working in the caff.”
Earlier this year Charlie said he was so hard up he could not afford to keep the heating on in his house.
