On Days of our Lives, Foster’s Little Book Shop in Salem Bookstore is becoming the talk of the town. Well, at least the talk of Julie and a few close family and friends. With Foster closing the doors, Julie has her eyes on reopening the beloved shop, and fans can’t help but imagine what kinds of stories could be told there. While the show teased where the storyline might lead, viewers already see the potential for Salem’s next great gathering place. This story is very timely as well, considering National Read a Book Day just happened recently.

A Bookstore That Sparks Imagination

On Instagram, the official DOOL account joined the fun: “It’s #NationalReadABookDay! You’re headed to the Salem Bookstore…Who’s joining your book club, and what are you reading first? 📚” was the caption accompanying a screenshot of Marlena (Deidre Hall) reading a book. Fans wasted no time diving in with their dream picks, with one suggesting, “I want DAYS to publish One Stormy Night.”  

Another crafted the ultimate guest list: “In my book club, I would need Stefano, Kristen [Stacy Haiduk] (maybe Susan too), John Black (😢), Eric (Jensen Ackles & Greg Vaughan), Bo [Peter Reckell], Hope [Kristian Alfonso], and Roman [Josh Taylor] to come and say ‘What the hell?’ at every turn 😂. No clue what to read, I’d be having a ball chatting with that gang and gawking at all the beauty 🔥😍.” Others chimed in with enthusiasm about the new literary twist.

From Devotionals to Detective Mysteries

The book picks themselves ranged from heartfelt to hilarious. One viewer offered, “👋 reading how Stefano got away with all he did back in the day…thru sands in the hourglass…😂😂😂👏👏🙌🙌.” Another decided, “Shawn Brady [Brandon Beemer] and we would be reading a detective mystery book.” For a spiritual turn, a fan added, “The Bible! To keep away the devil 😂😂.”
