Coronation Street star Cait Fitton has addressed Lauren Bolton’s absence from the show ahead of a major change. The star hasn’t been seen as frequently on screen of late, leading to some fan concerns.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the actor answered some questions from viewers, one asking when she will be back on Corrie.

However, she was quick to reassure them, writing: “I’ve had so many lovely messages asking this question. It’s reassuring and so lovelyyyy to know you guys LAV Lauren as much as I do, and your support means the world.”

It comes amid a big shake-up at the Rovers Return, where Lauren is a barmaid, with Eva Price returning to the cobbles and taking over the iconic pub this month.

Catherine Tyldesley is reprising her role after leaving the soap seven years ago, and will be part of a new family unit with partner Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and his mother Maggie (Pauline McLynn), as well as Ben’s sons and Eva’s daughter Suzie.

Cait told us back in August how she was “super excited” to be working with Catherine for the first time on Corrie, having herself joined years after her co-star’s exit.

“I’ve been a massive fan of her since being a little girl,” she said. “Eva was one of my favourite characters growing up, so there’s a lot of pressure there. I’ve heard great things about [Cath] – she seems absolutely lovely and she’s so mega talented.

“And I’m really excited to see what the dynamic’s going to be between Lauren and Eva.”

Speaking previously of Catherine’s comeback, producer Kate Brooks said: “We are beyond thrilled that Eva is returning as the landlady of the Rovers, with her new blended family in tow. The Driscolls do not arrive quietly, so expect big drama, explosive secrets and raucous knees ups galore.”
