Tamara Braun has joined The Young and the Restless as Genoa City newbie Sienna Bacall, a woman with personal connections to several of the town’s citizens. It’s her third soap and fifth daytime role. She previously played Carly Corinthos and Kim Nero on General Hospital, Ava Vitali and Taylor Walker on Days of our Lives, and Reese Williams (2007-2008) on All My Children.

What You Should Know About Tamara Braun

The Evanston, Illinois native, who made her television debut in the series The Sentinel in 1998, burst onto the daytime scene when she replaced Sarah Brown as GH’s Carly in 2001. Over the years, she’s also been cast in a long list of primetime series, including Ghost WhispererBuffy the Vampire Slayer, and Without a Trace, and appeared in several films.

1. Braun was a psychology major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. However, upon deciding to take a summer course in Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, she realized acting was her true calling.

2. The actress originally auditioned for the role of Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst — who showed off her gift) older sister, Sarah Webber, on GH. Although that part didn’t pan out, she later landed the more pivotal role of Carly.

3. A lover of the healing arts, Braun went to school for massage therapy. She finished four credits shy of becoming a licensed massage therapist.

4. She has won two Daytime Emmy awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Her first was for her portrayal of Ava on DAYS in 2009. Her second came 11 years later, in 2020, for her role as Kim on GH.

7. She landed a recurring role on Saving Grace in July 2009, the TNT series starring Oscar winner Holly Hunter. Braun portrayed Renee Ellen.
